Jeju Olle, Day 8

Another long day with the trail going into the mountains and returning to the coast, eventually leading into Jeju City, the main city of the island and the location of the island’s airport.

Rocky coastline with turquoise water and distant town across bay
Dry grass along clifftop overlooking wide blue ocean
Stream winding through green wetland with forested hills behind
Lush green meadow with distant hazy mountains under blue sky
Pebble beach meeting calm sea with black rocks on right

The trail is still beautiful, but not much else to say about it. The final stretch goes between the airport and the ocean, with the airplanes going just above the head every now and then. Finally it enters the city, does a couple of weird turns, passes through the fancy shopping street and eventually reaches the trail end and info center.

Harbour canal with colourful railings and city skyline behind
Red traditional pavilion overlooking still pond between rocky cliffs
Coastal inlet with small fishing boats and buildings along shore

Just in case, I’ve clarified with the info guy that I don’t need to prebook the ferry to Chuja-do and can just walk in and buy it on the spot. Also learned the schedule — the morning departure is at 8am, and I would want to be there early enough to have plenty of time to figure things out.

Finally, I’ve got to the hotel, fetched some food in the convenience store and ate yet another bibimbap in a cute local eatery.

The alarm clock is set to 6am and I am going to sleep.
