Jeju Olle, Day 6

Rest day. Waking up late, I hit the trail around 10am. There were still traces of the night rain, but the trail was already in a good condition. Water goes quickly through the volcanic rocks.

The trail 14-1 is an auxiliary trail that is not connected to the main route. It goes through the forest of the mountainous part of the island — with no views behind the trees, and leads to Osulloc tea museum and plantations.

The tea museum is a classic tourist trap and I got caught in it completely and with pleasure. Spent there a few hours looking around, smelling all sorts of tea they have and taste testing whatever they were brewing. Surprisingly tasty green teas, both fresh and roasted. Infused and blended teas… Well, it’s just not my thing. In the end I left the place with a couple of bags of new tea and a slightly lighter wallet. Good thing I’m in the middle of the trail, otherwise I would have bought a lot more.

Walking pretty much the same trail back, just cutting a few corners around the end, I still had several hours of daylight left. So, eating some tasty veg kimbap, grabbing some food for the evening and chilling in my room early. Tomorrow is a long stretch, so I need to have a good rest.
