Jeju Olle, day 5
Jeju Olle, Day 5
My assumption was correct and I was the only one staying in the hostel this night. Woke up lazily, packed and hit the road a bit past 8am. The trail is short today, but I need to get to the accommodation before the rain starts in the evening.
The start of the trail… Well, actually the end of the previous one, had gorgeous views to the ocean with small islands and the color of the water that the camera just doesn’t pick up.
Following it goes a stretch of farmlands and small villages ending with a sweaty hike up the small volcano cone (oreum). I decided that I am too lazy to descend into the crater with the backpack, so I just continued the trail down to the trail end.
Actually, the ladies at the official Olle Trail info center here were nice enough to let me drop a backpack at their place and take a run back up the mountain. Which was cool. The crater is small and cozy and impossible to take a picture of, so just believe me.
By the time I got back to my backpack the clouds covered the whole sky and the peak of Hallasan is not visible again within the clouds. The air already smells of rain but it shouldn’t rain for a while yet. It is still a bit over an hour till check-in time, so I am taking a slow stroll towards my accommodation, while looking for a cafe to hit on the way.
