Jeju Olle, Day 3

A chill day to rest and recover. In the morning I walked to the port, bought a ferry round trip ticket for Gapa island (Gapado) and after a bit of waiting and a short 10 minute ferry trip I was on the island.

It was. Freaking. Cold. The wind was strong and chilling, so whenever I got into an open spot it felt more like looking for a cover from the wind rather than looking at the beauty of the surroundings. But it was still good. The views to South Korea’s southernmost point — Marado were pretty. And the green barley fields of Gapado are really nice to see. A lot of tourists though, mostly locals.

After a nice stroll around the island and a cup of tea I got on the return ferry. I got back to the main island and took a bus north to hang out with a fellow traveler in the afternoon.

Together we explored Hallim park. A pricey entry ticket, but the park is big, well kept and has a lot to see in it — it is a mix of a zoo, botanical garden, museum, landscaping park, all blended in the beautiful greens. We caught the sunset at the gorgeous beach and as it got freakishly cold again with the evening breeze getting stronger, we went to our respective accommodations, to prepare for tomorrow and sleep.

My feet are definitely grateful for a day in the slippers and fluffy socks.
