4:00 pm — TSH, day 37

Kameyama Station (亀山駅)

The morning was cloudy and a bit wet, yet pretty walkable. I started hiking around 6:30, a bit later than planned — it is really more difficult to wake up when sleeping in a dry room on a soft futon…

Most of the following day was just normal uneventful hiking over nice places.

Low cloud hanging over forested ridges behind a tangle of green scrub and grass
Rice field and stream with mountains

7:30 pm — Seki

Around 5pm I reached Seki, my planned destination point. Just to find out that there is a festival there today and all the accommodations are full, no place to stay for me. After browsing a map for a while I decided to go to Yokkaichi for the night. I booked a room in a hotel and went to the train station.

Later at night I need to decide my plan for tomorrow. On one hand, the weather forecast predicted a rainy day and it might be nice to just book two nights at a hotel and go to the second day of the festival tomorrow. On the other hand, I don’t have an extra day, the weather might be ok, and I can’t find where I could possibly get this extra day…

9:30 pm — Wrapping the day

After browsing the net for a while I decided to take a train to Yokkaichi and booked a hotel there. According to the plan my next day of rest is… Tomorrow. So I’m staying in said hotel for two nights and tomorrow I’ll take some rest and probably take a train to Seki to walk around the festive town.
