TSH, day 23
10:00 am — TSH, day 23
Korankei (香嵐渓)
It was a bit hard to wake up this early after yesterday and I overslept a bit. Nevertheless at 6.30 I started to hike the trail (a good thing is that Kirara no Sato is literally on the trail and one doesn’t need to go off trail to get there at all).
Even though today the trail goes over some mountain tops, the trail has almost no steep parts on it. Thus I arrived at a planned destination point at 16.30 and checked-in from the first attempt. After I cleared my intention we quickly discussed amount of people (one), duration of stay (one night), that I won’t be fed there and the price.
8:00 pm — Wrapping the day
After I charged my phone a bit I went to investigate the area and check two convenience stores and one supermarket nearby. The village is built along the river with a lot of historical buildings, bridges and maples around. It should be really charming here in autumn. The village itself for a long time was a key point in the salt trade. Salt was brought here from different sources, mixed and repacked for transportation over mountains.
The shops were nice, I bought myself a dinner and decided to buy breakfast in the morning to eat it hot. Anyways the stores are in the direction of the trail.
Btw, I like how they marked the parking here to ensure there would be enough space to open a door.
